WHAT IS SPIRITUAL DIRECTION?
Spiritual Direction is a monthly one-on-one conversation about your life with God. With the accompaniment of a spiritual director, you learn to deepen and enjoy your relationship with God, and to be more aware of God’s presence and action in all the events of your life. Those who care for others also need to care for themselves. Those who help others pray also need to take time to be nourished. This monthly gathering will provide just that:
time for prayer, sharing and peer supervision to enrich and nourish the gracious listeners who give themselves so generously as spiritual directors. We will read Ignatian Discernment of Spirits for Spiritual Direction and Pastoral Care by Mark Thibodeaux, SJ between sessions. Led by S. Marcy. Donation: $225.
INTERN PROGRAM
SPIRITUAL DIRECTION INTERN PROGRAM
Francis House offers an intense 3-year Intern Formation Program for those desiring to become Spiritual Directors.
This program has four critical aspects:
♥ The Spiritual Exercises
of St. Ignatius of Loyola,
♥ Ignatian discernment,
♥ Learn and practice various kinds of prayer,
♥ Practicum in the art and discipline of giving
Spiritual Direction.
Time commitment:
2 Thursdays each month, 3 weekends a year, and a 5-day summer retreat.
